Look and feel younger and slow down the aging process - safely, painlessly and without surgery...
What is Facial revitalisation?
Facial Revitalisation is sometimes referred to as an “Acupuncture Facelift”. This characterisation is simple, but does not attest to the whole lifestyle changes that may come from Facial Revitalisation. More than a cosmetic procedure, it can make your whole body look and feel younger.
Surgery is expensive, invasive and painful. Acupuncture, as practiced by a qualified holistic practitioner has none of the side effects or safety risks associated with surgery (occasionally, slight bruising may occur, but fades quickly).
Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture is a new innovation in the UK – but the Chinese have been using it for thousands of years. At least as early as the Sung Dynasty (960AD-1270AD) Acupuncture revitalisation practices were employed for the Empress and the Emperor's concubines. The Chinese discovered and utilized ways to change the energy flow within the body to initiate the healing process for revitalisation helping the body to look and feel better.
Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture involves the insertion of hair-thin needles into particular areas of the head, neck and face that increase the flow of blood and Qi (energy) carrying nutrients to the cells, with the intention of enhancing the overall appearance of the skin and nourishing the underlying tissue.
What are the effects?
The effects of Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture vary according to the prior condition and lifestyle of the patient. Although one cannot promise or guarantee results as such, Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture may erase as many as five to fifteen years from the face, with some results apparent as early as the first treatment. The effects of acupuncture being cumulative, the results continue to progress throughout the course of treatment.
It has also been shown to increase collagen production and aid in its dispersal, helping fill out wrinkles and firm the skin. Bags and sagging around the eyes, face and neck may be significantly reduced and these areas will become more toned.
There is also the added benefit of the skin being more moisturized, with increased local circulation of blood and lymph to the face, improving muscle tone, and dermal contraction; tightening of the pores and brighter looking eyes. Acne is reduced, due to hormonal balance being restored, and a reduction of stress is evident in the face – bringing out the inner beauty and radiance of an individual.
Who could benefit from Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture?
Anyone concerned with looking and feeling younger and slowing down the aging process. The decision to begin treatment may be professionally or personally inspired or a combination of both. Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture is suitable for those with wrinkles, lines, bags under the eyes, sagging, puffiness, drooping eyelids, double chin, large pores, dry skin or acne.
Different methods are emphasised and specific points stimulated according to how an individual is aging. A person with excess puffiness, for example, would require a different treatment than someone with dry skin. The whole person is treated and evaluated on the body-mind continuum--the foundation of Holistic Medicine.
What is the course of treatment?
Generally, a course consists of 12 treatments. The effects become most noticeable and lasting on or about the seventh session. Each person responds differently, depending on his or her condition and lifestyle prior to treatment. Following the initial course of treatment, maintenance sessions can prolong the results for five to ten years. It is often recommended to supplement the Facial Revitalisation programme with Facial Self-Massage and/or Acupressure, Facial Exercises, Herbal and Nutritional Supplements, pure and authentic Aromatherapy blends for the skin, and a healthy diet.
Does it really make a difference?
A 1996 report in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture reported that among 300 cases treated with Facial Acupuncture, 90% had marked effects with one course of treatment. The effects included: the skin becoming more radiant with improved elasticity of facial muscles, leveling of wrinkles, and an overall feeling of revitalisation.
